I love these sorts of phrases that invert our habitual ways of thinking. From a Buddhist perspective, gentleness is strength because it arises when we no longer need to defend the ego at every turn. Aggression, and control often emerge from fear and grasping. Gentleness comes from spaciousness. Accessing this spaciousness requires its own kind of courage and strength.
