Rigpa.
Rigpa is a central concept in Tibetan Buddhism, particularly in the Dzogchen tradition. It refers to the innate, pure awareness that is beyond the ordinary mind. Rigpa is the fundamental state of consciousness, characterized by clarity, openness, and a direct knowing of reality as it is. Unlike the deluded mind, which is clouded by thoughts and emotions, Rigpa is unconditioned and non-dual, seeing things without attachment or aversion. Recognizing and abiding in Rigpa is considered the essence of enlightenment. Through practices like meditation, practitioners aim to recognize this ever-present awareness and maintain it in their daily lives.
