OM MANI PADME HUNG
The Mani Mantra, Om Mani Padme Hung, is one of the most sacred mantras in Tibetan Buddhism. It is associated with Avalokiteśvara (Chenrezig in Tibetan), the embodiment of compassion. Each syllable represents a step toward purifying negative qualities and cultivating wisdom and compassion. “Om” symbolizes the pure body, speech, and mind of the Buddha; “Mani” means jewel, representing altruistic intention; “Padme” means lotus, symbolizing wisdom; and “Hung” signifies indivisibility of wisdom and compassion. Reciting the mantra is said to awaken compassion within the heart, cleanse obscurations, and bring the practitioner closer to realizing their innate Buddha nature.
