“Impermanence” (18 x 12 in.)

$225.00

The Tibetan word for impermanence is: mitagpa. This piece features mitagpa repeated in the Tibetan Ume script. I chose a rust color for the ink because I feel rust is symbolic of impermanence. An amber hue is also used in combination with the rust color and the resulting gradations that occur in the letters also represent the idea of impermanence and constant change.

Finally, to further convey the idea of impermanence, I treated the piece with an open flame, resulting in color damage and some burned areas.

The frame not included.

This piece is handwritten using a calligraphy pen. It’s made to order and includes artist’s seal.
